As announced some time ago, FoMS, as an independent place for all those who would like to be a part of a MuleSoft world, is going to publish various Mule applications. The goal of those apps is to bring beginners into the world of MuleSoft, to help intermediates to broaden their knowledge and to make seniors even more efficient.

Together with each app, we plan to publish DIY (do it yourself) steps, so that you can recreate an app yourself. We will also emphasize on numerous problems that occur during the development of the app. In a few words, we will try to make those example apps as useful as possible.

Together with things that we need to develop and prepare, there are some things that you will also have to do, in order to be able to use FoMS apps. You will simply have to acquire certain knowledge to be able even to start with a simple “Hello, World!” Mule application. Those prerequisites are so important that we use this opportunity to warn you not even to try to fiddle with Mule FoMS apps, without the following knowledge:

-Main elements of the HTTP Request/Response architecture,
-How to use Postman,
-The concept of the message-based integration,
-Basic knowledge of Anypoint Studio.

Before you start, you should also have Anypoint Studio already installed on your PC. Installation rarely works out of the box, so make sure to do that as well.

Each FoMS App is going to be named according to the standards that we have decided to use, with a descriptive name and a number starting with a 001, for our first app. The advantage of learning by using FoMS apps is that together with an app, you also get our ready-to-help community on the Forum but also through private messages, so you will be able to find an answer on any question. Initial apps are going to be simple, but yet descriptive, in order to suit our younger (junior) colleagues the most.

Good luck with acquiring new knowledge and have fun with FoMS apps!
